So the day of love is here
You know for a time I hated with day because it remembered me of how single I was for a long while. And because society told me it was sad and bad to be single, I felt lonely not realising that being alone/single does not mean I am lonely. That one can be single and happy because if you are at peace with yourself, you will never be lonely.
But then when I got to 22 I realised this day is just like any other day; also I did not need a partner to be able to celebrate it anyway. Valentine’s Day is sold t us a day of love (beside it commercial meaning of having to buy gifts for your partner). I am not gonna lie, I always had this dream of getting a card or gift from a stranger in my bag when I was in secondary school. But of course that did not happen because I was not in a movie.
But that is by the way, since we all universally agree that today is a day of love, happy Valentine’s Day to everyone and enjoy the day however you do it and never just follow the crowd. Love comes in all shapes and forms.
If you single, here is to the single squad. We are amazing and awesome. There is no love like self love. To all the couples keep the love alive and enjoy your day.
