Who am I

I am a chef in training, I love cooking, baking. The first time I realised that making food from scratch brought joy to my life was when I was baking with my mother and she was showing how to make everything, even though I could not do much at the time because I was very young but the little I did made me so happy. From that point on any chance I got to assist my mother in the kitchen I took. Then when I came of age my mother started teaching more and more things, the most basic things like cooking ‘pap’ and making stew. From then on I became the cook and baker of the family.


The first time I realised that I wanted cooking to be my career was when I was studying in varsity and I ran into a student wearing a chef’s uniform and I was so fascinated with it I could not help but stare in envy at this person but it was not my time yet to be a chef. I let it go for a short while and continued in what I was doing but I also remember telling my family and some friends that if they offered a cooking course in varsity I would have considered it as my other major but that was not the case.

Cooking is more just about the food, it’s also about the art that is in food presentation, the science of putting just the right combination of spices to get the taste just right and the smile on people’s faces as they take that first bite, priceless. When one is cooking, it should not just be about making money; it should be about the love and passion you have for the food.
